Examples from current ongoing storyboard for A2 Media

I am currently drawing the storyboards for the song called first date, and the narrative involves two people going on a first date and making the most of the night. It relies heavily on stereotypes of first dates and rock videos, the two people go bowling, a romantic meal, to the park to watch the stars. The band performs the song in a completely different location to separate the narrative from the band. I've used various shot types, and the shots are all of a very short duration in order to match the fast pace of the song.

Animated Music Video

I created this for my BTEC level 2 Media, I used The Sims 2 in order to create this animation. I created the location of the 'club' setting for the video on The Sims, I also created the characters in order to look more like the actual members of the band. I did the pre-production by making a storyboard and planning out the shots, I then recorded the footage on The Sims. I edited the footage together on  movie maker in order to create a fast paced narrative music video. Duration: 3:00

Examples from my horror storyboard

These are from the storyboard I originally created for my coursework. I pre-planned the horror sequence out shot by shot, and included detail of the action and if there was an necessary camera movement. I drew quite clear pictures to demonstrate what was happening within each shot. I then filmed the footage based on my storyboard as a guide, and began to edit on final cut pro. I didn't use this idea in the end for my coursework, so I do not have the final moving image piece.

Media Coursework Video

This was an individual project that I did for my AS coursework. I created an opening sequence to a horror film, that was supposed to build up suspense by using stereotypical ideas of a horror. I had to do research into the horror genre for this. I then prepared a storyboard and filmed this using high-tech video cameras in various locations. It was then all edited and arranged on final cut pro. This is this most recent project that I have done. The duration of the video is 3:09

Media Coursework Storyboards

These are some examples from my storyboard that I made in preparation for filming my media coursework. I drew out all the shot types and wrote detailed instructions for the type of shot, duration of shot and if there was movement. I used various shot types to show variety, but it was mainly close ups as the close ups were a clear iconographic feature of a horror film. My horror film was closely based on the stereotypical presentation of horror films.

Perfume Advert

I made this whilst doing my GCSE'S. I created this as an individual experimental first project. It was simply filmed on a standard digital camera then edited on movie maker - as my knowledge of editing software was not advanced then. The idea the advert was supposed to imply was the perfume "brightened" everything up, and brought out colours and the best in people, making it seem more appealing and positive. This was difficult to portray to an advanced level on basic editing programmes. The duration is 39 seconds.

Film Studies Photographic Storyboard

This is part of my photographic storyboard that I created for my film studies coursework. I was creating a horror movie sequence that was set in a stereotypical location of the woods. I used various shot types throughout, with quite a few close ups that were used to limit what the audience saw to build up the suspense. I also found a soundtrack that would fit to the atmosphere of the story. The storyboard included terminology of what was happening in each shot and clear directions of the sound included. The duration of the shots showed the pace.
